Whither are we going?

Democracy is of the people, by the people and for the people. According to principle of democracy, people have the right to decide about their representatives and their own fate too. Latest by-polls in Punjab on two NA constituencies and six provincial assemblies seats have shown Punjab’s position, where does the Punjab stand? PML-N sweeps by-polls in Punjab, ruling alliance lost to PML-N with huge margin. And most of the political pundits call it rehearsal before general elections in May in 2013, and 150 days to go for next general elections. I respect the mandate of PML-N but I am worried about future of Pakistan, if PML-N wins next elections and forms its governments in the centre and the provinces then it would be disastrous and perhaps last election of the country, I am afraid.

Because Nawaz Sharif wanted to impose Zaalmanization in Pakistan and he was about to declare himself ammerul momineen after senate elections in year 2000, but he could not due to military intervention. Though he had good ties with then al-Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden and Zaaliman leader Mula Omar and still he has good ties with terrorists, who are enemies of Pakistan and they are involved in suicide bombing inside Pakistan in our main cities and security’s forces check posts and head quarters, but it is very pathetic that people of Punjab voted for them.

Way back on April 30, 1999 that the slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto had accused Osama bin Laden, Mian Nawaz Sharif and a corps commander of toppling her first government in early 1990s. “Bin Laden financed an operation to topple me in cooperation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistani intelligence services,” she had stated in an interview with the London-based al-Hayat newspaper.

The alleged links between Osama and Nawaz Sharif were also highlighted by the British author and journalist Simon Reeves in his book titled “The New Jackals: Ramzi Yousaf, Osama bin Laden and the future of terrorism”, which was published in September 2009. Simon also claimed that Bin Laden not only sponsored the election campaign of the former prime minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in 1988, but paid him large sums of money to ensure protection of al-Qaeda operatives in Pakistan and to ‘Islamise’ the state and society. Simon Reeves’s narrative was also backed by slain former ISI official Khalid Khowaja, he stated that Nawaz Sharif took million dollars payoff from Bin Laden for turning a blind eye to Al Qaeda operatives in Pakistan.

So dear countrymen, Next general elections are very crucial for Pakistan it will set the direction, where to move. One person one vote, cast your vote cautiously for the sake of Pakistan. Our nation is responsible nation and it is better that positive message should be sent to international community. In next general elections we have to prove that we are not allies of Al-Qaeda and other terrorists groups, latest by-polls results show that people of Pakistan are strong supporters of terrorism and terrorist groups. I appeal every citizen of Pakistan to reject these terrorists in upcoming general elections and start your journey towards Jinnah’s Pakistan.
