Just a few years before when I moved to United States, I strived to continue my support and work for MQM as a ‘GUMNAM KARKUN’ of my leader Mr. Altaf Hussain. Slowly and gradually I started my participation and work for MQM USA in my best capacity. The ideology of Altaf Hussain not only touches your heart but this philosophy changes you in a optimistic way and your personality becomes so affirmative that you no longer ignore corruption and injustice.
I understood this organization when I was very young but my dedication for my education never allowed me to get much involved in MQM as a full time worker. Later when I started teaching at a private university in Karachi Pakistan I came across some wonderful students who were associated with All Pakistan Muttahida Student Organization (APMSO) and I officially started working for MQM.
MQM is a bright lot of sincere and patriotic individuals who are trained in stupendous way to honestly work for Pakistan. Such training encampment to develop this human workforce is not limited within Pakistan but around the world existence of MQM as a foreign political party is doing a magnificent job to train young brains in order to accommodate Pakistan’s future. One of the advantages of these foreign training of workers in MQM overseas units is to overcome the need of strong workforce as MQM Pakistan has been affianced into malicious issues that the training of the workers for required qualities has been halted to some extent. Being a part of MQM USA I know that it is an amazing lot of highly educated and energetic individuals who want to save their country from those who are the actual cause of its destruction since its creation. This year I got a chance to meet hundreds of such workers in 16th annual convention of MQM USA.
On June 29th I caught my flight and reached Houston, USA. The reason of this journey is to attend the 16th Annual Convention of MQM USA that was scheduled from June 29th –July 1st 2012. I entered the Crown Plaza hotel in Houston and met several workers of Houston chapter of MQM USA who were working in a team. From pickup and drop-off of the guest from airports to the hotel and then to allot them their comfortable rooms in just few hours was managed very professionally. All workers senior or junior were trying to deliver their best, which showed their management skills that were taught to them in this organization.
Evening of 29th June was the inauguration ceremony for the convention. Hundreds of workers and supporters were present when the evening ceremony started with the recitation from Holy Quran and the official opening announcement by Patron In-Chief of MQM USA Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. Different responsible individuals in various wings of MQM USA delivered their annual performance report to the Central Organizing Committee. Later, the dinner was served after which the workers were gathered once again to attend the training session by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The inauguration ceremony ended in a delighted mood where these hundreds of workers socialized with each other and spent a thought provoking evening.
The second session of the second day was a big gathering of thousands of Pakistanis in Houston city. The day started with morning session in the same hotel where all the workers and supporters were resided. And for the first time I saw Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi entering into the ball room. This is the man I truly am inspired of. His image and how he talks is a great piece of inspiration to the younger lot because when he starts his conversation on grounds of reality no one can stand in front of him. This is indeed a hallmark of MQM and thanks to Quid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain Bhai whose trainings and teachings are outstanding. No doubt that Pakistan at a very sensitive time of its turmoil need hundreds of personalities like Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi and for sure only MQM is the key to overcome this chaos.
During the second day of the convention a talk show was conducted by member Cenral Oganizing Committee MQM USA Mr. Wakeel Jamali. Guests of this talk show were Mr. Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi deputy parliamentary leader of MQM in National Assembly, Mr. Moid Siddiqui Member National Assembly and Ex-member Sindh Assembly Mr. Shabbir Qaimkhani. During this session of more than an hour different questions related to Pakistan’s current political situation and to the role of MQM were raised by Mr. Jamali. At the end of the talk show the guests were asked various questions by the participants from different chapters of MQM USA and other guests. Almost all questions were focused on the current political situation in Pakistan and MQM’s policy in the present political scenario of Pakistan. Haider Abbas rizvi, Moid Siddiqui and Shabbir Qaimkhani addressed all the questions raised by the participants of the convention.
After the talk show session Mr. Muhammad Younous senior vice coordinator international relations MQM USA conducted a training session on public speech and communication. He emphasized the importance of the training of the workers of MQM USA for the future. His speech was focused on the training of workers in way that they should be able to represent MQM as a future leadership.
Central organizer MQM USA Junaid Fehmi said that the overall performance of different chapters of MQM USA is outstanding and the team is focused in spreading the message of our leader and founder Altaf Hussain. He emphasized the need of better communication and appreciated the outstanding performance of Communication and Media Cell USA throughout the event.
The public program of the second day of 16th Annual Convention of MQM USA was celebrated at the Pakistan Center in Houston. The evening session of the convention was consisted of a program where thousands of Pakistanis attended this colorful program that ended with a musical night. Fantastic thought provoking drama acts and speeches were also presented by a talented group of kids. MQM’s Patron In-Chief in USA Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and MQM’s deputy parliamentary leader in Pakistan Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi addressed the guests, workers and supporters of MQM.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the political decisions and setup of Pakistan has been occupied by the 2% feudal class of this country. He said that in Prime Minister’s house one RAJA is living whereas, the common people of this country are on roads. He also said that the Zardari is in president house and the common people are his slaves.
Deputy Parliamentary leader of MQM in National Assembly of Pakistan Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi said that sometimes a decision has to be made to minimize losses. He mentioned the current alliance with the government as ‘a similar contract’. He also said that sometimes you have to take the bitter pills. He also said that MQM is doing politics by the principles and selected the options that are in the best interest of the people. Nine elections are held in Pakistan since 1988 where more than 100 MNAs and more than 250 MPAs from MQM were elected where mostly are lost in the past but not a single one can be pointed out who has betrayed his people and pocketed from his position.
He also mentioned that when we ended our alliance with PPP, the passage of “Kati Pahari” was spitting fire and more than 100 MQM workers were killed in just 4 days. Police did not reach there for 4 days until the 5th day when rangers moved in and situation came back to normal. He said foreign hidden hands are another element in this. He said we are forced into a situation where we are forced to go into alliance with PPP.
Communication and Media cell of MQM USA launched the uplifted version of MQM USA website that was inaugurated by Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi. In-charge MQM USA Houston Chapter Imtiaz Ahsan, Shabbir Qaimkhani, Abdul Moid Siddiqui, Muhammad Younus, Jamshed Warsi and Irshad Kamali also addressed the guests. The second day program ended on a musical night where all the workers and supporters enjoyed the national anthems and cultural performances.
Third day of 16th Annual Convention of MQM USA was consisted of party’s sessions and the reorganization of MQM USA for the year 2012 and 2013. The third session also presented the future aims and objectives in the light of Quaid-e-Terkeek Altaf Hussain’s ideology. The Patron In-Chief of MQM USA Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Patron Ibad Rehman and Central Organizer Junaid Fahmi addressed the workers from more than 18 chapters of MQM in USA.
Media and Communication cell MQM USA presented a detailed report on the annual performance of the wing during 2011-2012. In-charge Media Cell Imran Hussain focused his talk on the importance of media cell and the expansion of work by the media cell during the mentioned tenure. Members of Communication and media cell, Mr. Shariq Sajjad and Mr. Fawad Rehman presented the detailed explanation on the features of the newly uplifted website of MQM USA. On this occasion Patron Communication and Media Cell Tauseef Khan and In-charge Imran Hussain presented the professionally tabulated annual performance report to the Central Organizers.
During this the Central Organizing Committee awarded the acknowledgment certificates to different chapters based on their performances and the devotional work for the party. Atlanta and Chicago chapter of MQM USA were on top of the list of these certificates. In his short speech Central Organizer Mr. Junaid Fehmi informed the central organizing committee with their new responsibilities and informed different chapters of MQM USA with the re-organization. Central Organizer also strongly applaud Houston chapter for arranging a stupendous convention and congratulated the chapter on this success.
Patron In-Chief of MQM USA Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Patron Ibad Rehman addressed the workers and said that we symbolize MQM worldwide and this is our responsibility and mission to spread the message of Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain to the Pakistani community at any cost. They congratulated Houston chapter for organizing such a wonderful convention and also applauded Communication and Media Cell not only for the live broadcast of the convention but to keep world informed of minute to minute proceedings of the convention using social media. At the end Central Organizer Junaid Fahmi announced that the semi-convention will be held in Detroit while the Convention 2013 will be organized in Atlanta.
My attendance in the 16th convention of MQM USA was a superb experience. There were several points for me to learn and I learned. This was also a summit for many of those who do not understand MQM in its original shape rather they have misconceptions about this political organization. For such individuals I would like to say that please come and see what MQM is all about. It is a very powerful lot of thousands of well educated individuals from different walks of life and most importantly they do not belong to any feudal and/or rich class of Pakistan. MQM teaches you to be devoted towards your nation, towards your cause and your country. Obviously no one can do it without being organized and disciplined and many of you will be agree with me that even the leaders of other political parties applauds the discipline in MQM. The founder of Pakistan and the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah once said:
“My message to you all is of hope, courage and confidence. Let us mobilize all our resources in a systematic and organized way and tackle the grave issues that confront us with grim determination and discipline worthy of a great nation.”

I do not know if anyone in Pakistan is following the words of their founder but I personally experienced that MQM is walking on the foot marks of the founders and leaders of this nation and I request the young educated lot of patriotic Pakistanis to choose the best individuals not only for this country but also for your own betterment and future as well.

MQM has played a vital role in the politics of Pakistan. This is the only political party which represents the common, poor and middle class junta of Pakistan.
