Transformation of Pakistani Society

Pakistani society is witnessing a massive change in its cultural values. The inherent and deep rooted cultural and religious values are no longer seen to be embedded in Pakistani society. This situation is indeed sympathizing. It is precluding Pakistani society to manifest itself as Islamic, and as a nation rich in traditions. Besides, the pace at which the societal and religious values are being eroded is depressing.

The prominent catalyst in transformation of Pakistani society is a decrease in an inclination towards the religious values. The Muslims have forgotten the real teachings of Islam inscribed in the Holy Quran and in the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).The western propaganda is exerting a deep influence on the mindsets of Muslims. It is shattering the inherent Islamic beliefs prevalent in Pakistani society. As a result, the Muslims no longer adhere to the prescribed teachings of Islam in their social, economic, and political spheres. The religious zeal and fervor with which the Eid festivals used to be celebrated by our ancestors is missing. Not only this, but the religious values are also diminishing on the funeral ceremonies, marriages and on other social occasions. The elements of selfishness, malice, prejudice and animosity are prevalent amongst the Muslim brethren of Pakistan. The principles of brotherhood, empathy, equity and respect in which our ancestors were once knitted are no longer evident!

This shift in the values of Pakistani society is indeed depressing! It fades the image of Pakistani society being labeled as Islamic. There stands a dire need for the government ministry of religious affairs to appoint devout and pious religious scholars, who can steer Pakistani society on the religious principles. In addition, the religious institutions of Pakistan should endeavor their utmost to knit the social fiber of the society strictly on Islamic principles. These measures, if prudently implemented can help to uplift the Pakistani society on the religious footings.
