Pakistan cricket is facing another turn around

A series lost to England and when no one predicted after winning the test series that this was the result coming. Again the former world T20 champions lost even in T20s. No one would have thought for a worst result. But then a turn around came the new coach Dav Whatmore former Srilankan coach was appointed for the job to turn around the misfortunes of Pakistani cricket.

A new setup was build. Though there were many criticisms on his appointment but the PCB opted him being the best available man. What happened next was much appreciated as the board made separate teams for test series and both one day and T20s. New faces were included in the side and Misbah was dropped from the T20s and Hafeez was made the new captain. Practice matches were also scheduled and everyone predicted that now Pakistani cricket would face a better result in the supervision of Zaka Ashraf the chairman. But there wasn’t any improvement in the side the team showed poor performance both in the T20s and one day.

Now why including all this details us because this doesn’t effect the so called grouping and player power in the Pakistani cricket team. My point here is Why we can’t change the system. When Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik was being the options for the T20s then why Hafeez. The sources said that there were some inside politics as always been the case. The team never looked united. In the whole series when Umar Akmal known to be the best talent of Pakistan didn’t even score more than 50 runs before the last match was not dropped even after not playing well in the 3 one day that took place. Younis khan the most senior player didn’t score more than 10 runs. Umar Gul was given chances again and again and Cheema who bowled so well in the Asia cup was left out. Why this and what were
the reasons. In the last match the must win game for the team they dropped Saeed Ajmal the main bowler of the team and instead went for Sami. Who could have understood the decision? They have the fielding coach and everybody knows how the team did in the fielding
department. Nobody could have thought for this. Why can’t the team go and work as a team.

Why the board can’t handle the player power. We are not doing it well and certainly like this the cricket of Pakistan will be drowned. How could we solve the issues? In the previous years we have lost some great talent mainly because the senior don’t want to go out and the board doesn’t do anything in this. The storm is coming and certainly a great amount of talent will be destroyed if it continued like this. Since it has always been like this and I am afraid it would be like this if a strong measure is not taken.

Actually Board mechanism control through Politics Power
therefore they are not able to cutoff Player Power. All board members always
busy in protecting their position rather than try to improve Players
    performance.

Abdullha I am waiting your views on Euro cup 2012.

I disagree to your assertion that a storm is coming; Pakistan Cricket will go on as it is, neither it will deteriorate nor it will worsen. The reason for claiming so lies on the fact that Pakistan cricket has always depicted the condition it portrays right now. The only thing which can change the current side is a good established captain who performs himself consistently and does not invite any criticism what so ever of any sort.

    • saim i believe that we are the ones who can bring the change what i wanted was to show facts and a real picture of what we have done and what this has led us to. a change is needed. there is a need for a strong captain but it should be done sooner

Things wont change by changing the faces either in board or team, a real practical turn around from the grass-route level is required. We have examples of Australia and England in front of us that players reaches the international scene after going proper scrutiny at county or league level. But in Pakistan management, board and departments runs on ADHOC basis. The system needs to be changed !!!
