After May comes, it is hell hot outside. Especially the ones living in cities find it hard to go outside because of heat and dry hot weather. The summer months pose a challenge for maintaining a healthy skin. The sun rays are so strong that they leave your skin tanned, dry and dehydrated. Sun rays, heat, sweat and humidity can harm your skin a lot, making it dehydrated, tanned and wrinkling.
While talking to Kiran Awais Suhail, who runs a beauty salon, she shared some great summer care tips. She is of the view that a good sunscreen shall be used. By a good sunscreen it means an Ultraviolet A UVA and Ultraviolet B sun rays with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. She also recommends a good broad spectrum protective lip balm to use from getting lips cracked. She is also of the view that summer make up shall be used in summers, like light mineral based powder and a water proof mascara. Sun protected summer clothing shall be used. Plus she suggests that sun glasses shall be used frequently in summers while going out. Exfoliating shall be done on a regular basis. It means removing dead cells from your skin. Exfoliate with a good scrub. The scrub can be either home-made or a commercial one too. Exfoliating gives a new glow to your skin by removing all the dead cells from your skin.
It’s good to use and apply a light moisturizer like mint or coconut one. It will cool the rashes and reduce tanning. Mint based moisturizer will cool your skin and keeps you refresh for the entire day. You need to take care of your elbows and knees too. Most of us ignore our keens and elbows. And they are darker as compared to other parts of our body. Exfoliating is very important. Scrub them at least twice a week to get rid of dead cells. Rub a slice of lemon every alternate day to keep them clean or you can use mustard oil or coconut oil and lime juice.
Our feet also need care. Those who travel a lot by foot in summers need to take care of their feet. Ii is good to remove dead skin from your feet too. Go for a pedicure once in a week. This will help to keep your foot clean. Trim your toe nails and avoid dirt and dust from accumulating under your toe nails.
Your hands also need care. Always use some gloves in your hands while going out. Use a hand cream to keep your hands moisturized and to avoid wrinkles. A hand cream that contains emollient plant oil and anti inflammatory ingredients to pamper your hands, nail and cuticles, is always a good choice.
