Is Rehman Malik becoming Baber…Rung Kaise Kaise Dikhata Hai Ishq

After receiving fame as deal-broker and security expert, it seems that our beloved Interior Minister Rehman Malik has assumed the position of Baber Awan, who was used to target PML-N and judiciary.

Before daring to say something about his capability of deal-broker and security expert, I apologise to my friends in Pakistan People’s Party. I hope they will not take this criticism in a negative way.

First, he emerged as the deal broker in BB-Musharraf reconciliation talks in Abu Dhabi in July 2007. The talks ended up with the controversial National Reconciliation Order (NRO), which granted amnesty to politicians, political workers and bureaucrats who were accused of corruption, embezzlement, money laundering, murder, and terrorism between January 1986, and October 1999. In fact the NRO made common man think that any law or punishment does not apply on ruling or elite class in the country. The order also caused a massive financial loss to the national exchequer, courtesy to Rehman Malik.

Later, upon homecoming of Benzir, Malik asssumed the position of chief security officer (CSO) of Benazir Bhutto. But unfortunately he failed to provide security to the former prime minster as she was gunned down in his presence in Rawalpindi.

Since the PPP came into power, the honourable interior minister has been playing the role of a bridge between the PPP and the MQM. Whenever relations with the MQM get tensed, he lands in Karachi and remove ‘all the concerns/grievances’ of coalition partners. Some call him ‘Rehman Baba’ for this extraordinary skill. What he never did is his official task of providing protection to the lives and properties of people.

And as federal interior minister,  Malik, who  fled the country in 1998, has completely failed to maintain law and order in the country.

From Karachi to Gilgit Baltistan (GB) you see bloodshed, blasts, kidnappings etc. Every other day we hear news of target killing in Quetta, GB and Karachi.

Even the PPP’s traditional stronghold Lyari has turned into  battle field. If the PPP’s interior minister could not control the situtaion in Lyari then what more can be expected from him.

We can just expect statements and promises from Rehman Malik, who is a recepient of Sitara-e-Shujaat, as he had never succesfuly perfomed his job.

Now finally, after remained unsuccessful in all his earlier official tasks, he is busy in defending the prime minister and targeting Sharif brothers.

The same job was doing already sidelined Mr Baber Awan. The interior minister should remember that how the PPP is dealing with Baber Awan today.

Yesterday, Punjab Governor Latif Kosa has dubbed Mr Awan as traitor and  hypocrite. He went on to likened the former law minister to Mir Jaffar. Hansaata Hai Ishq Rulaata Hai Ishq………Rang Kaise Kaise Dikhaata Hai Ishq.
