“I don’t care, if they are dying. It is not my problem. We will continue our strike till the fulfillment of our demands”.
But what about your “Hippocratic Oath’?
I honestly don’t give a damned to that idiotic oath. To me that was nothing but just a ritual and I can’t let go my dreams for any such idiotic oath. Got It!
But I thought you are a doctor and doctors are supposed to save life. Aren’t they?
There was a time (years back) when the profession of medicine was considered to be one of the noble professions. Doctors were respected because they were out there to serve “humanity”, irrespective of their personal motives and interests.
But today due to greed, lust for money and materialistic approach, this noble profession has now become one of the most corrupt and dangerous profession. Where doctors are playing with the precious lives without realizing how important the life of an individual is. As so many other lives are linked and associated with one single patient, who is at the mercy of doctors.
Doctors are supposed to save life, but unfortunately due to their greed they have now become main reason for a rise in death rate.
Today the cheapest thing on earth is “human life” and it is the irony of our life.
No one is asking you to be God, but at least be human. Your one day strike had killed so many innocent people in a day. What would you call this in humane act? How would you justify your stance? A patient who died due to your negligence, strike and ego, will never return. Try to differentiate yourselves with terrorists and suicide bombers.
So please stop this in humane crime, follow some ethics, personal and professional before it is too late. Think over it before going for a strike next time!

well written
I AGREE WITH THE POINT YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE …… BUT I WOULD GO ONE STEP FORWARD MATERIALISTIC GREED AND LUST DOESNT INCLUDE NECCESATIES OF LIFE BEING IGNORED I MEAN IF YOU ARE A DOCTOR U DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY I MYSELF A DOCTOR STUDIED IN DOW UNIVERSITY KARACHI AND NOW PRACTISING IN TORONTO AND U DONT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF BRAIN DRAIN FROM PAK THAT HAS HAPPENED OVER THE LAST DECADE AT LEAST THE MOST BRILIANT BRAINS I KNOW ARE CURRENTLY SERVING IN USA OR UK AND THOSE THAT LEFT BEHIND ARE THE ONES WHO EITHER DENIED VISA OR THEY HAVE FAMILY ISSUES …..
I WOULD LOVE TO WORK IN PAKISTAN IF I BEING PAID EVEN 1/3 OF WHAT I AM PAID IN TORONTO BUT STATISCALLY AVERAGE DOCTOR IN PAKISTAN IS BEING PAID FOR A MONTH EQUAL TO WHAT DOCTOR IS BEING PAID FOR 2 HOURS IN USA IMAGINE JUST HOURS IN USA AND WHOLE MONTH WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF WORK STRESS OR EVEN MORE
I WORKED IN JINNAH HOSPITAL KARACHI WHICH IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE LARGEST IN PAKISTAN IN WARD WHICH I USED TO WORK WE DONT HAVE WASHROOMS IN THAT WARD WE HAVE TO WALK AT LEAST 10 MINUTES IN A WARD NEXT TO US TO USE WASHROOM AND IN THAT WARD WE HAVE TO WORK 36 HOURS EVERY 3 DAY AND WE CANT HAVE FACILITY TO EVEN WASH OUR HANDS PROPERLY ……. THATS GREED OR WHAT
ANOTHER POINT I WORKED IN NICH KARACHI PAEDTRICS WARD WHICH IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM DIABETES AND GUESS WHAT WE DONT HAVE A PROPER INSTRUMENT TO MEASURE GLUCOSE LEVEL WOULD U BELIEVE THAT A PERSON CAN LOOSE HIS LIFE JUST BEZ WE DIDNT HAVE PROPER EQUIPMENT ITS NOT BEZ WE DONT HAVE BUDGETS BUT BEZ OR CORRUPTION IN ADMINISTRATION AND DYSFUNCTIONAL CHECK AND BALANCE THIS GOES ON AN ON
EVEN IF DOCTORS ARE WORKING WE DONT HAVE EQUIPMENT TO SAVE LIFE AND THEY WILL GONNA DIE WHATEVER WE DO BEZ WE NEED EQUIPMENT TO DIAGNOSE NAD IN THAT CONDITION ITS BEST TO PROTEST AT LEAST SOMEONE SHOULD SPEAK UP
I WOULD CONCLUDE ON THAT NOTE
ITS EASIER SAID THEN DONE
Please, reference which strike you are discussing. Doctors cannot form unions in many countries and therefore cannot strike. In addition when strikes do occur, emergency rooms usually still function and are run by physicians (Not every physician is taking care of a life or death situation with patients). Historically, when there have been strikes, many other physicians still worked, therefore, there are options for severely ill patients. Lastly, doctors balance patient’s interest, a governmental budget, insurance restrictions, pharmaceutical initiatives, and clinic costs on a daily basis. In any other profession there is nothing wrong with demanding more income. Why be so critical of doctors, especially if striking historically has not come at the expense of the patients?
The situation is not as black and white as you paint it.
The benefit about blogging is you can spread your brash, poorly thought
out opinions without making any difference in society other than spread
anger. If you were to strike the world would probably benefit from your absence.
