Last Saturday night I happened to watch Ali Zafar’s London Paris New York along with my wife. We were just too excited to see Ali Zafar in a chocolate hero role after being a clown in “Tere Bin Laden” which was applauded highly. There could be mixed critics on this new film but for me it was quite surprising. After watching half of the movie I was thinking how our society will react to it? While keeping in mind what happened to Veena Malik for her performance across the Boundaries. Though I don’t want to pretend as an advocate for Veena but I was expecting Ali Zafar would receive same kind of characterization by our Great Anchors and highly respected Islamic Scholars. But unfortunately this hasn’t happened yet.
It has been more than three weeks since the movie release yet not a single talk show criticizing Ali Zafar’s work in the Movie which is not by any mean is for Family. This made me think why media is silent on this? Will any brave anchor stand up and call upon Ali Zafar? Will any Islamic Scholar question Ali Zafar How was he representing Pakistan and Pakistani Culture in the movie? I remember when the media criticized Veena Malik for a right reason, she clearly said “You only raise fingers at me, because I am a soft target” In my opinion she should have just said whatever is happening with her is because she is a women.
Perhaps it was just my ignorance that I thought our society is no more biased, that age of discriminating women is over. But Sadly I was wrong. We are still the same and for how long will we remain like this? Will our society ever show gender equality?

In Pakistan It depends which artist has more control over media more than that it depends on the team that an artist has, As far as I know Veena Malik is a solo person without a team where as Ali Zafar like any Bollywood star Is backed up by a International professional team of managers, publicists and media stalkers, who report and cope up with the situations without even letting him know. So it’s more about professionalism rather than radicalism my friend.

Hi I must admit I was thinking the same but then after some thoughts I realized that Ali Zafar did a lot in the movie besides one or two adult scenes. He did a lot of creative work which is composing the entire album and then lending his voice for the songs. Also the scenes were part of the movie not thr only thing he did in the movie. He is using his talent pd music very well and not just focusing on his BODY .

Ali Zafar or Veena? that is not the question. Are they role models for people like us who do not want to see such crap? Let them do whatever they want to and whatever they are supposed to. They are not saints or “Muttaqeen” who we should follow. They are misdirected people like many others in the world and answerable for their own deeds. What change did media bring in Veena by critising? and what we cant change in Ali by not criticising? If you lose character, you lose everything..

Ali zafar did a few scenes in the movie, the first time he ever did, secondly even pakistani films have more inappropriate scenes than that.

I too was shocked to see Ali Zafar in such a role, i was also expecting something remarkably good from him n the movie but both disappointed me to the core. And you highlighted the hypocrisy of our society our media etc.In this age we should say a big No to gender discrimination.
