Jalsa! Jalsa! …is thy name of my game

The much-awaited jalsa also concluded, again with the rhetoric and music. This time new entrant for music was Salman Ahmed, he is the same who called “Islam is a sexy religion” (nauzabillah) in a BBC program. Next time do invite “sonu nigam” for the song “main hoon na” it will create wonders!

How Mr. Shah Mehmmod Quareshi diplomatically changed his stance about Pakistan Nukes was amazing. Mr. Khan should take some elderly advice for his speeches to add some substance other than rhetoric, from…whom?? Yes, from Mr. Hashmi (this could be the only help Mr. Hashmi can do for PTI). So now, what is next from PTI? I just failed to understand what kind of politics is going on in our country and that too in the name of change. What are we up to? Calling it, a jalsa for the betterment of Pakistan but Pakistani flags were rare in number. Strange.

Does Lahore jalsa proved anything concrete? Does it solve the issues? Therefore, is the case with Karachi’s big show, on which huge amount of money was used. PTI and its team went from pillar to post to make Karachi jalsa successful in terms of “gathering people only”. Because Mr. Khan wants to prove his strength via jalsa to whom, we all know. However, PTI chairperson and his big guns failed to address solutions to the problems in both of his mass gatherings at Lahore and Karachi.

Nonetheless, every month PTI manage to arrange a recreational activity for the deprived public and call it “tsunami of change”. Agreed Imran is the champion in gathering people, so let move a step ahead. Let us talk on some of his policies, little bit if Imran and his supporters think to share it with public. PTI’s (realistic) policies related to education, Baluchistan issue, how to end corruption, tax reforms, shortage of electricity and gas etc.

A part from jalsa-concert, I am little confuse, if Mr. Khan or the supporters enlighten me on this, Imran has said that he is welcoming everyone because he needs electable for his party. However, he will give ticket to those who will be on merit; unfortunately, no turncoats will ever be able to come to the merit, so what is the purpose of taking them on board now? some contradiction?

Why Imran blame only politicians for all the chaotic condition, when we all know how establishment always has its influential part in Pakistan politics and is equally responsible and equal partner in crime. However, when it comes to army and issues related to it, (be it assets declaration) Imran always kept himself low profile, which clearly shows his stance. Establishment intervention has always hampered the democratic system. Nevertheless, “ we have not tried Imran before so give him a chance”(not justified). Please for heaven sake it is not about giving a chance for the post of PCB chairman, it is about Pakistan.

It is easy to chant few attractive slogans and to point fingers on others. However, on pragmatic grounds, practical approach works. Just by holding others responsible is not enough if you consider yourself as a leader, come up with solid solutions. We had enough of Jalsa drama.

Ms Marium you too highlighted the “issue” not “solution”. It is premature to say about him whether he would be successful in his set-goals or not. In prevailing situation, do you find any public-figure who is patriotic with the country and people trust him.

This is high time, still people think Zardari or Nawaz sharif can do any thing better ?

One try of Imran Khan is very logical we will not loose much rather possibility of improvement is there.

  3. Ahmed Jan says:

Imran Khan is like others politician, there is a proverb in Urdu for this the PTI new comers (Lota)
كہیں كی مٹی كہیں كا روڑا ـ ـ ـ بھان متی نے كنبہ جوڑا

Sorry..but its pure bullshit. Nobody is saying Imran is perfect or so his party; but certainly he much better than the cronies and blood sucking leeches.

  6. Very well written Blog by Mariam.
We need solutions now as people are just fed up with these speeches and blame game for last 64 years.
PTI is nothing but another Q-league.

Dear American Brother, you dont know what is corruption, what is Load-shedding and what is hunger. as you are sitting in the laps of American… and just typing about Pakistan.. I think they have no right to say something about Pakistan who have Nationality of other country. PML (Q) was made by a dictator overnight. it was for his own interest. while PTI is a 16-years long movement Mr. Imran Khan is clear with any allegation, those who are joining they are frustrated with their old parties. Those who are opposing PTI are surely in favor of this corrupt system. but those who want to have a corruption free system they will obviously Join PTI. and by the way there are paid “KARAYAI KAI” writers who write against PTI. but “Tundhe Bade Mukhalef sai na gabhra Ai Uqaab ye to chalte hai Tujhe Uncha Urrane Ke leyai.”

    • Khan says:

Who do you think has the solution?
Zardari? Or Nawaz? The later just announced in his jalsa that he will give loans on lower interest rates to the educated youth….lol.. Or Yellow cab scheme that will become green cab scheme. I presume….lol
MS Mariam, I think you have a been listening to the current speech with your ears shut or you need a hearing aid.
He gave the most comprehensive program on education, Agriculture, Tax and reforms. The reason he was not too open is because your uncle Nawaz seems to be a copy cat and copying every sentence, every programe Imran Khan has been giving.

  8. Ali Qazi says:

    Solutions?

We can start by having a leader that doesn’t have any corruption charges against him and see where that takes us.

  9. Kamran says:

He can motivate people … that as he says rightly has the potential to lead to lessen corruption. It is that campaign against corruption, the will, the lesson, the rally, the resolve he has that matters. No body else has that as of yet… But when I look towards people, the nation, the whole majority of land of the impure and corrupt… I believe he’s naive and heading for failure not coz of his effort but coz of nation’s corrupt souls.

  10. Adnan Butt says:

    Ali Qazi..
Imran Khan not having corruption charges on him.. How about the application he wrote to Nawaz Sharif to get the plot & he lied that he doesn’t have his own home? Isn’t it corruption?? He took U-turns on many of his stances.. isn’t it intellectual corruption. It is the intellectual corruption which has ruined Pakistan it starts from Seven Point agenda & ends up at issuing NRO for the corrupt politicians.

@Mariam Khan, a Mass Communication graduate from University of the Punjab, not to mention the pic was hand picked to suit the trend. you see my drift?

A Mass communication graduate! One of those who is confined to her drawing room and pretend to be an analyst that analyse our political situation through the windows of her drawing room. It only helps such journalist to further their pessimism and she fails or deliberately ( may be for a Lafafa ) fail to see clearly who is wrong or right.

Just see what sort of readers she attracts. I am sick and fed up off the likes of her and her followers who refuse to accept the truth.
